This course provides participants with key tools for addressing time management concerns. Participants learn a system for setting goals and priorities and for scheduling tasks.  They learn how to overcome timewasters, deal with procrastination, and handle the inevitable shifts in focus each day brings. In addition, they learn the Action Planning system for managing projects. Staff come away from this course with a new set of tools and a renewed motivation for managing time and self.

Managing Projects – S.C.O.P.E.™ for Project Management

This 2-day course provides participants with an in-depth understanding of what project management is and how to approach it systematically. Participants will learn the following project management tools: Scope statement, Work Breakdown Structure, Gantt Chart/Timeline, Action Plan, Risk Assessment Matrix. The workshop also features an exciting new simulation—Rocket: The Nuts and Bolts of Project Management.


  • Learn to use the S.C.O.P.E. system for planning and managing projects.
  • Know what project management is.
  • Be able to write a scope statement to quickly determine what is included in the project, and what is excluded.
  • Learn to use basic project management tools.
  • Learn how to manage multiple high priority projects while retaining involvement in lower priority tasks.
